There you have it. The album of the moment at this present time is none other than Bombay Bicycle Club's (BBC's) debut album "I Had The Blues But I Shook Them Loose".
How did I come across this album then you ask?
It was roughly a week, maybe two, ago that i randomly hopped onto play.com and checked out the play recommends section. Low and behold i came across Bombay Bicycle Club. I had no idea who the band were or what they sounded like so if i was to get this album, it'd be one hell of a gamble. Good ol' video came to the rescue though. On the album's page there was a video showcasing one of the tracks on the album. The track in question was "Dust On The Ground". I watched the video (It's a weird one) and immediately thought "EDITORS". The singer's voice in that one particular song did remind me of Tom Smith's voice a fair bit. With this the decision was made. Since then i've racked up roughly 90 plays on my last.fm page (here) and simply can't stop listening to the album. It's also another one of those albums that have to be played all the way through. That's basically what lead to the 90 odd plays. Very addictive in that respect.
Stand out tracks then so far are...
"Dust On The Ground"
"Always Like This"
"Cancel On Me"
Being totally honest, I can't fault the other tracks on the album. They all stand out nicely but the three above are the songs or, better still, lyrics that have stuck in my head over the past week. Doesn't look like i'm going to get bored anytime soon either. It's still playing away at this very moment. If you're looking for info on the band, here is their last.fm page (here) Definitely worth a shout if you're a fan of the editors or just british indie music in general.
To finish off here's a video or three of the guys in action. Enjoy. Let me know if you approve :)
